Sharon’s Sensory Garden

When commissioned to build a garden for a private donor in memory of their daughter, we thought it would be appropriate to build a sensory garden. This garden is complete with more than seventy varieties of plants, mostly fragrant, five varieties of natural stone, a waterfall, creek and pond, a bridge (with animal footprints) allowing wheelchair access to the waterfall, and many other features. The garden features over one-hundred-seventy feet of raised gardens for handicap accessibility, Braille nameplates for forty of the plant varieties, an herb garden with twenty varieties of herbs and a staff at Mendon Ponds Park, in Mendon, New York who care for it with sensitivity and love.
